Royal Crosses
Royal Crosses was my second lamp ever made, and will always be one of my favorites. I originally folded the piece in Morocco while I was studying abroad, and had a heavy focus on Muira-Ori and square grids back then. The grid was originally intended to be an array of simple arrows pointing in a sort of zig-zag pattern, but during this time I was experimenting with triangle twists and discovered how to collapse an intersection on a square grid in a similar manner. One of my favorite parts of this piece is how complicated it looks, despite being one of the easiest lamps to make in my collection. It is mounted on the lamp base using a lampshade from target that I ripped apart and 3 hand crafted wire hooks that fit into the folds and rest on the lampshade ring.
This piece is in a private collection. A similar piece can be folded to order.
